Lakshadweep  formerly known as the Laccadive, Minicoy, and Aminidivi Islands is a group of islands in the Laccadive Sea, 200 to 440 km (120 to 270 mi) off the southwestern coast of India. The archipelago is a Union Territory and is governed by the Union Government of India. They were also known as Laccadive Islands, although geographically this is only the name of the central subgroup of the group.

KADMAT

Kadmat Island also known as  Cardamom Island, is a coral island belonging to the Amindiv  subgroup of islands of the  Lakshadweep archipelago in India.Measuring 9.3 kilometres (5.8 mi) in length, the island has a lagoon with a width of 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) covering an area of 25 square kilometres (9.7 sq mi).

BANGARAM ATOLL

The atoll has a roughly rectangular shape and is 8.1 km in length with a maximum width of 4.2 km. and with a lagoon  area of 36 km2 (14 sq mi). It is located over 400 km (250 mi) off Kochi & 525 km (326 mi) from Kollam Port in the Indian Ocean.

KAVARATTI ISLANDS

Kavaratti is the capital of the Union Territory of  Lakshadweep in India. Kavaratti is a census town as well as the name of the atoll upon which the town stands. It is well known for its pristine white sand beaches and calm lagoons, which makes it a popular tourist destination. It has a distance of 2,056 km (1,278 mi) south of the city of Delhi.

AGATTI ISLAND

Agatti is located about 459 km (285 mi) off Kochi in the mainland and 7 km to the southwest of Bangaram, the nearest island. Agatti is 531 km away from Kollam(Quilon) and 529 km away from Kollam Port.[3] Kavaratti.

KALPENI ISLAND

Kalpeni is 218 kilometres (135 miles) west from the port of Kochi and lies 71 kilometres (44 miles) south of Andrott and 201 kilometres (125 miles) to the NNE of Minicoy, with the broad Nine Degree Channel  between them. Suheli Par atoll lies 139 kilometres (86 miles) to the west of Kalpeni.

MINICOY ISLAND

Minicoy, locally known as Maliku is an island in Lakshadweep, India. Along with Viringili, it is on Maliku atoll, the southernmost atoll of Lakshadweep archipelago. Administratively, it is a census town in the Indian union territory of Lakshadweep.
