It is a state in northern India, often denoted by its acronym, J&K.It is located mostly in the Himalayan mountains, and shares borders with the states of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to the south. The Line of Control separates it from the Pakistani-administered territories of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the west and north respectively, and a Line of Actual Control separates it from the Chinese-administered territory of Aksai Chin in the east. 

The flower beds and snow capped peaks that the 60s and 70s Bollywood heroes and heroines are seen singing and dancing around, mostly belong to Kashmir.

SRINAGAR

Srinagar is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian  state of Jammu and Kashmir.It lies in the Kashmir Valley on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus, and Dal and Anchar lakes.

Leh is a town in the Leh district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It was the capital of the Himalayan  kingdom of Ladakh, the seat of which was in the Leh Palace, the former mansion of the royal family of Ladakh, built in the same style.

Katra or Katra Vaishno Devi, as it is popularly known, is a small town in Reasi district in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India, situated in the foothills of the Trikuta Mountains, where the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi is located.

Jammu is the largest city in the Jammu Division and the winter capital of state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. It is situated on the banks of the Tawi River. It is administered by a municipal corporation.
