Chandigarh is a city and a union territory in India that serves as the capital of the two neighbouring states of Haryana and Punjab. The city is unique as it is not a part of either of the two states but is governed directly by the Union Government, which administers all such territories in the country.Chandigarh is bordered by the state of Punjab to the north, the west and the south, and to the state of Haryana to the east.

Chandigarh Capitol Complex, located in the sector-1 of Chandigarh city in India, is a government compound designed by the architect Le Corbusier and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is spread over an area of around 100 acres and is a prime manifestation of Chandigarh's architecture.

The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a sculpture garden in Chandigarh,  India. It is also known as Nek Chand's Rock Garden after its founder Nek Chand, a government official who started the garden secretly in his spare time in 1957.

Chandigarh, the ‘City Beautiful’ situated in the foothirlls of Shivaliks is blessed with a climate that is suitable to accommodate number of species of flora of different climatic regions. It is worthwhile setting up a Botanical Garden here with a purpose to conserve the flora of the region as well as those exotic and near extinct species.

ELANTE MALL

Elante Mall is a shopping mall in the city of Chandigarh in India. With the gross leasable area of 1,150,000 sq ft, it is the second largest shopping mall in Northern India and the eleventh largest in India.They produce their own electricity. Government is not able to give electricity to Elante Mall.

SUKHNA LAKE

Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills (Shivalik hills) of the Himalayas. This 3 km² rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills.

PINJORE GARDENS

Yadavindra Gardens, formerly Pinjore Gardens, is a historic 17th century garden located in Pinjore city of  Panchkula district in the Indian state  of Haryana. It is an example of the Mughal Gardens architectural style, which was renovated by the Patiala Dynasty Jat Sikh Rulers.

BOUGAINVILLEA

 

With fifty varieties of bougainvillea on display, this garden established in 1976 is spread over 20 acres.

Its popularity lies in its varied shaped bougainvilleas- arch, pavilions, a cluster of bowers, and arcades. The annual Bougainvillea festival is a major draw here.

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was established in 1966 by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (Srila Prabhupada). ISKCON has since developed into a worldwide confederation of 10,000 temple devotees and 100,00,000 congregational devotees.
